 Should YOUR Head Position
Move During the Golf Swing?

The Head:

head 1

A key fundamental is to keep your head position still by maintaining the axis on your backswing. The axis refers to the angle of your spine as you address the ball.

The spine remains fixed as your shoulders turn around it preventing you from swaying on the backswing.

Mirror Drill:

Practice in front of a mirror or your shadow. Place a ball where the shadow of your head is. Do your backswing and at the top of your backswing, check your shadow. If your shadow moved, well guess what, your head did too.

head 3

Practice your backswing only and focus on the stillness of your head by turning properly around your axis.

Look at your shadow on your backswing:

If your head moves during the backswing, chances are that you will not make good contact at impact thus creating inconsistancy with your shots.

What NOT to do:

Eliminate any lateral or side ways movement of the upper body. Again by rotating correctly around your axis (Spine)  you will be in a much better position to execute a good swing.

Happy Golfing!!!
